Ingredients:
- 2 large potatoes
- Pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Cheese (mozzarella or any cheese of your choice)
- Toppings of your choice (such as sliced bell peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, etc.)
- Italian seasoning or dried herbs (optional)
- Red chili flakes (optional)
Instructions:
-
Preparing the Potato Base:
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Slice them thinly into rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Heat a non-stick tawa or skillet over medium heat. Drizzle a little oil and spread it evenly on the tawa.
- Place the potato slices on the tawa in a single layer, making sure they don't overlap.
- Cook the potato slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are lightly golden and cooked through. Press them gently with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
- Once cooked, remove the potato slices from the tawa and set them aside.
-
Assembling the Pizza:
- Place the cooked potato slices back on the tawa in a circular pattern, slightly overlapping each other to form a base.
- Spread a generous amount of pizza sauce over the potato base, covering it evenly.
- Sprinkle grated cheese over the sauce, making sure to cover the entire surface.
- Add your favorite pizza toppings, such as sliced bell peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, etc., according to your preference.
- Optionally, sprinkle Italian seasoning or dried herbs and red chili flakes for added flavor and spice.
-
Cooking the Pizza:
- Cover the tawa with a lid and cook the pizza on low heat for about 5-6 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the toppings are heated through.
- Keep an eye on the pizza to prevent burning, adjusting the heat if necessary.
-
Serving:
- Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, remove the Potato Tawa Pizza from the heat.
- Carefully transfer the pizza to a serving plate.
- Slice it into wedges using a pizza cutter or knife.
- Serve hot and enjoy the unique and delicious flavors of this no-oven, no-flour Potato Tawa Pizza!
